Sue Bonaiuto

Susan Bonaiuto, EdD

Director of Special Projects, Operations

As the lead for Partnerships and Operations, Sue brings leadership experience in public schools, non-profits, state government, and consulting. She managed school partnerships during the Boston Early Literacy Screener validation study and is excited to join the founding team to develop strategic partnerships with schools and partners and set up EarlyBird to scale quickly and efficiently. She’s particularly excited about the potential impact of the screener for children — as an early reading game-changer.

Sue’s formal positions include Executive Director for MA at BELL (now BellXcel), Director of Planning and Community Education at Needham Public Schools, and Executive Director for the NH State Council on the Arts. She has consulted to nonprofits and educational collaboratives. and received leadership awards from Boston Public Schools and Needham Public Schools. She has written for Educational Leadership and Technology In Music Education.

She has an EdD in Educational Leadership from Boston College, an MA(MBA) in Arts Administration from University of Wisconsin, an MA in Political Science and Government from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Bucknell University. She’s been Superintendent certified and a Planning for Success (PfS) facilitator for MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
